PLANET XC WAX BENCH |
Ten Essential
Tools for Basic Ski Waxing 1. Planet XC Wax Bench to provide a stable means of holding skis in place while waxing. 2. Waxing Iron: Avoid damaging your ski base with an iron that is too hot. An iron designed specifically for waxing offers much better temperature control than a clothes iron. 3. Respirators are a recommended piece of equipment when waxing. A respirator with carbon cartridges filters out harmful organic and fluoro vapors released when wax is melted. 4. Structuring tools: Rill bar, brass or bronze brush for structuring. Speed Wheels will make a quick and quality job of structuring your skis. Note Speed wheel on page14. 5. Fibertex: Are used to take hairies off the base after structuring. Speed Wheels will not only structure your base they will also remove hairies off your base. 6. Plastic Scraper: We recommend two; one for grooves and edges and the other to remove wax from the flat part of the ski. A scraper should be sharp with edges free of nicks and burrs. 7. Stiff Plastic Bristle Brush: Large brushes are durable and generate even pressure on your ski. Speed Brushes will do twice the job in half the time. 8. Polishing Brush is essential for removing wax left by your stiff plastic brush. If you want a quality polish job use theSpeed Buff. The Speed Buff will polish and work in excess wax into your base. 9. Fiberlene is used to polish your ski base after the last coats of wax. 10. Radio: Add ambiance and fun to waxing with some tunes! |
